Kevin Hart has revealed that the night before he was unfaithful to his then-pregnant wife, Eniko Hart, in 2017, he had taken ecstasy. This admission comes from a newly surfaced court document linked to Hart's ongoing legal dispute with his former friend, Jonathan "J.T." Jackson. The legal battle stems from Hart's 2017 sex tape scandal, and the document contains a transcript of Hart’s September 2017 deposition where he recounts the events of that night.

According to the filing submitted to the Los Angeles Superior Court on August 6, Hart, 45, said that he was out "partying" with a friend who offered him "molly." Initially, Hart declined, explaining that he typically avoids drugs. However, he later gave in to peer pressure, adding the substance to his diluted drink after his friend assured him nothing would go wrong.

In his more than 30-page deposition, Hart detailed that he thought he would be fine because the drug was mixed in his drink. He then found himself in the company of Montia Sabbag later that night. Hart recalled continuing to drink and hang out with both Sabbag and another woman named Morgan. Eventually, feeling "messed up," he went to bed fully clothed, with Sabbag also joining him, still dressed.

Hart insisted that nothing happened between them that night, but the following morning, she woke him up, and that’s when they had sex. Referring to the hidden camera, Hart claimed that while they were intimate, Sabbag intentionally moved in a way that made her more visible to the camera. He recalled pulling her back and said that you couldn’t see him in that specific area. Afterward, Sabbag sat on a bench in clear view of the camera, ensuring that he was recognizable in the room.

Sabbag’s attorney has not yet responded to PEOPLE’s request for comment as of Wednesday, August 14.

Following the scandal's exposure and the subsequent extortion attempt over the video, Hart publicly apologized to his wife and children in a 2017 Instagram video, admitting that he had made a "bad error in judgment" by placing himself in a compromising situation.

In recent developments, Jackson filed a $12 million lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court, accusing Hart of breaching a settlement agreement. Jackson alleges that Hart failed to use the agreed-upon language in an Instagram post addressing the scandal in October 2021. According to the court documents, Hart was supposed to say that he had “lost someone close” to him and that the charges against Jackson had been dropped, emphasizing Jackson’s innocence.

Jackson’s attorney expressed confidence in winning the lawsuit, stating that they expect full vindication for their client. Hart’s legal team has not yet commented on the matter.
