The Tampa born rapper Doechii becomes the 3 rd woman to win in the rap album of the year category. The other two women were the Bronx rapper, Cardi B and the legendary Miss Lauryn Hill. Lauryn Hill was the first ever woman to take home the award for Best Rap Album for The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill in 1999. Doechii’s album “Alligator’s bites never heal” had tracks that became an online sensation on platforms such as TikTok.

The creation of the  Best African Music Performance” Grammy category in 2024 was a historic step, designed to give kudos to the beautiful and varied musicalities of the African land mass. The victory of South African artist Tyla with her hit “Water” was hailed as a major step forward for African music on the international scene.

Shemar Moore is taking the initiative. Several outlets have reported that the S.W.A.T. singer and his girlfriend, Jesiree Dizon, had split up after five years of together. Before Shemar, 54, and Jesiree, 41, reconnected in 2020, the couple had first connected in 2008. The model's son Kaiden, 18, and daughter Charlie, 6, from prior relationships were joined by their 2-year-old daughter Frankie three years later.

Singer Tems took to X to announce that she is canceling her ‘Born in the Wild’ tour stop in Rwanda. She tweeted, “So I recently promoted my show in Rwanda without realizing that there is ongoing conflict between Rwanda and Congo. I never ever intend to be insensitive to real world issues, and I sincerely apologize if this came across that way. I actually had no idea this was going on. My heart goes out to those affected. Conflict is no joke and I truly hope and pray for peace in this time.”

Beyoncé has officially announced her Cowboy Carter tour for 2025, but in classic Queen Bey fashion, she has left fans eagerly waiting for specific dates and locations. The news was shared across her Instagram, X, Facebook, and website on February 2, with a striking video of a sign reading "COWBOY CARTER TOUR"

Rapper and reality TV star, Akbar V took to social media to announce that she’s expecting a baby with her husband Shakeem “Bean” Taylor. In a clip with her husband, Akbar V shared a video with her husband and captioned, “I pray for a son my husband wants one…”

This comes after the rapper posted divorce papers online, announcing they had settled on a divorce. She wrote, “Today I file for divorce and the reason I’m addressing this is because it was so many people who saw me in courtroom and I didn’t want anyone to tell my story before I got to tell it.” Akbar went ahead to claim she wants her husband to be free and find someone who fits him.

She continued, “ I have been through a lot these last couple months and today I chose me over anybody else. I pray whoever he dates will give him a good, long and happy life. I’m at peace with my decisions… certain things in life be uncomfortable but God will get you through it.” She went ahead to write that she has nothing to give anymore and that anything left in her is for her kids and career.

After revealing her pregnancy, the Shade room asked Akbar V if she finalized her divorce from her husband and she said, “We not divorced. I haven’t made my mind up, I’m just focused on my career and kids and my unborn. I’m currently taking it slow because of slight complications.”

The rapper also shared a series of photos including an ultrasound and captioned it, “I pray that God (shows) me the way and guides me through this journey. This time I can do it the right way… married… not out of wedlock… still making money and going to all my bookings and collecting my bag, my (sister) @sexyyred did I know I can.”
