Even Oprah Winfrey has revealed she received a special gift from Beyoncé after attending the superstar's 2023 Renaissance tour and she couldn't hide her excitement.
"I went to the Beyoncé Renaissance concert. I was so blown away. I wrote her a fan letter," Oprah said during an appearance on the Are You Okay? web show, shared July 27. "She obviously liked the fan letter because she then sent me one of the hats from Renaissance. Beyoncé sent me a hat!"
The gift was one of the tour's signature wide-brimmed chrome hats, a staple of Beyoncé's dazzling stage look. Oprah, 72, attended the Renaissance tour stop at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey in October 2023, where she was spotted dancing alongside Beyoncé's mother Tina Knowles and longtime friend Gayle King.
At the time, Oprah posted a video to Instagram capturing the moment, writing: "I have never in my life experienced something as transcendent as @beyonce's Renaissance Tour. That kind of talent, synergy, expression, and anointing is something that comes straight from a Source that creates the planets."
She praised the dancers, musicians, and production team, calling the show "a renaissance in today's world" and urging fans: "You must see it."
Her admiration clearly reached Beyoncé, who responded with the personal gift. Oprah recalled the moment with pure joy, even dancing during the interview as producers digitally placed silver hats on her and host Brianna Morales.
"I sent her a letter and she sent me a hat!" she repeated with glee.
Beyoncé herself has described Renaissance as a deeply personal project, writing in 2022 that creating the album gave her "a place to dream and to find escape during a scary time for the world." She said her intention was to create "a safe place, a place without judgment... a place to scream, release, feel freedom."
