Rapper Yo Gotti and entrepreneur-reality star Angela Simmons have reportedly ended their relationship, after going public in late 2022 and weathering years of public scrutiny. Rumors first began swirling in May 2025, when Simmons posted a cryptic message on her Instagram Story: “I want. What wants me in life. In all areas. What flows FLOWS. What goes GOES.” The post followed an insider’s claim to Media Take Out that the couple, who had been together since 2023, had quietly split.

Actor Derek Dixon has filed a staggering $260 million lawsuit against filmmaker Tyler Perry, alleging years of sexual harassment, assault, and workplace retaliation. The lawsuit, lodged in Los Angeles on June 13, outlines what Dixon calls a “coercive, sexually exploitative dynamic” during his time on two Perry-led television projects, _Ruthless_ and _The Oval_.

Chris Brown pleaded not guilty to assault charges on Friday related to an alleged bottle attack at a London nightclub two years ago. The US singer, 36, is accused of attempting to cause grievous bodily harm (GBH) to music producer Abraham Diaw in what prosecutors call an "unprovoked" incident. He also faces charges for assault and possessing an offensive weapon – a tequila bottle – which were added to his indictment ahead of the hearing.

In a dramatic moment during the ongoing federal trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs, U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian dismissed a 41-year-old Black juror, identified as Juror No. 6 after discovering contradictory statements about his place of residence. Though the trial is being held in the Southern District of New York (which includes Manhattan and the Bronx), the juror initially said during voir dire that he lived in the Bronx with his fiancée and daughter, but later told a court staffer he had moved to New Jersey. The judge ruled that this discrepancy raised serious concerns about the juror’s candor and ability to follow the court’s instructions.

Damson Idris recently opened up about an awkward on-set moment he shared with Brad Pitt while filming their upcoming Formula 1 racing movie. Idris, 33, plays rookie driver Joshua Pearace, who is mentored by Pitt’s character, Sonny Hayes, a veteran driver coming out of retirement.

Bryshere Y. Gray, best known for his role as Hakeem Lyon on the hit TV series Empire, has been charged with misdemeanor assault and battery following a June 13 incident at a Homewood Suites hotel in Chesapeake, Virginia. The 31-year-old actor is accused of attacking his associate, Dustin “Chosen” Wilkins, during a dispute over an alleged unpaid bill.

In June 2025, The Recording Academy announced a significant restructuring of its country music award categories ahead of the 68 th Grammy Awards. Starting in 2026, the long-standing Best Country Album will be renamed Best Contemporary Country Album, and a new category—Best Traditional Country Album—will be introduced.
