Nicki Minaj recently announced plans to pursue a college degree, marking an exciting new chapter in her career. But her return to education isn’t solely focused on herpersonal goals; the Grammy-nominated rapper is also bringing back her popular Student Of TheGame charity to help fans with college expenses. Minaj first mentioned this charity revival on social media, where she shared her enthusiasm for both her studies and her plans to support her fans in theirs.
Minaj’s Student Of TheGame initiative began as an impromptu Twitter gesture in 2017, when she offered to cover educational costs for a fan. She invited fans to tweet her proof of academic achievement, like a high GPA, in exchange for financial aid. The overwhelming response led her to formalize the program, helping cover a range of expenses from tuition to textbooks. By 2018, Minaj had already supported 37 students, funding over $25,000 in educational expenses, making her a celebrated advocate for educational support among young adults.
In her recent announcement, Minaj shared few specifics about her chosen field of study, simply saying that she would provide more details about her major in the future. However, she made it clear that the revival of Student Of TheGame is aimed at helping her dedicated fanbase, known as the Barbz, pursue their own academic dreams. Eligible fans will soon be able to apply by using the charity’s hashtag on social media to outline their financial needs, as was the process in previous years.
For Minaj, who graduated from Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York, education has always been important. With this latest effort, she’s not only setting an example but also offering tangible assistance to fans. Her approach to the charity underscores her belief in the power of education and her desire to give back to her community, a gesture that resonates with her millions of followers worldwide.
