Nicki Minaj appears to have been the latest victim of a swatting call on Wednesday night, after law enforcement responded to a report of a shooting at her Hidden Hills residence. At approximately 7:05 p.m., a report of an alleged assault involving a deadly weapon was made to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. According to a department spokesperson, the caller claimed that a friend had shot a female Black adult and that two suspects dressed in all black were still on the property.

Deputies from the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station responded swiftly to the address, only to find no evidence of a crime or anyone at home. The call was later confirmed to be a swatting incident — a deliberate false report made to provoke an emergency response. A spokesperson noted that the call had come in through a business line, which is “harder to trace” and often used in swatting cases. They also added that legitimate emergencies typically trigger “multiple 911 calls,” which wasn’t the case here.

Although authorities did not officially confirm the property belonged to Minaj, a neighbor told the Los Angeles Times that law enforcement had indeed arrived at her residence. TMZ reported that Minaj purchased the 12,000-square-foot home in 2022 for $19.5 million. It is located in the same exclusive enclave where members of the Kardashian family own property.

This is not the first time Minaj has been targeted in similar attacks. In June 2023, deputies responded to a false child abuse report at her residence, followed by another swatting call a month later involving a fabricated shooting. TMZ noted that during Wednesday’s incident, “law enforcement personnel swarmed her L.A.-area property,” but Minaj and her family were not on the West Coast at the time.

The identity of the caller remains unknown. The Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate the incident. Meanwhile, swatting has become a growing concern in the United States. The FBI disclosed in January 2024 that over 100 separate threats had been made in a single month, affecting more than 1,000 institutions across 42 states.

High-profile individuals in Los Angeles have increasingly become targets. Recent victims include Jennifer Aniston, JoJo Siwa, and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Despite the repeated incidents, law enforcement has yet to track down those responsible for swatting Nicki Minaj.
