Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson recently spoke about his emotional experience following hisvpublic breakup with fiancée Sharelle Rosado, known for her role on Netflix’s Selling Tampa. Rosado, a successful real estate broker and former Army veteran, initially confirmed their split on X (formerly Twitter), explaining that they were “no longer together” and asked followers to stop “tagging” the couple in photos.

Johnson acknowledged Rosado’s statement with a hint of humor, reposting it alongside a meme from Arrested Development featuring a dejected George Michael, which seemed to underscore his own sense of loss. He further opened up on the breakup in a recent episode of his Nightcap podcast, sharing with co-host Shannon Sharpe, “I’m just saying, I’m blocked. I don’t know what to do”.

Johnson discussed the unique challenges of managing a highly publicized relationship, stating, “If you live it publicly, you break up publicly. It’s okay. I can deal with that.” He added that the breakup has offered him a learning experience, jokingly describing the “stove” as “hot” and vowing to approach future relationships more cautiously.

Sharpe, with whom Johnson has a longstanding friendship, advised him to step backand respect Rosado’s need for space. Sharpe encouraged patience, suggesting that Johnson be available for a conversation whenever Rosado felt ready, an approach Johnson seemed willing to adopt.

The couple, who first connected through social media, began dating publicly in late 2020. Rosado took the initial step by messaging Johnson on Instagram, marking the beginning of their whirlwind relationship. In January 2023, Johnson proposed to Rosado, presenting her with a stunning 7.5-carat ring to mark their commitment. A year earlier, they celebrated the birth of their daughter, Serenity, a milestone that had fans rooting for their relationship.

Johnson’s reflections on the breakup have resonated with fans, who followed the couple’s journey through both social media and Rosado’s reality show. The former NFL

star and Rosado each have families from previous relationships, and despite their split, Johnson has expressed admiration for Rosado’s dedication to her career and her family.

Though the relationship has ended, both appear to be moving forward with mutual respect, each focused on their paths and on maintaining positive roles in each other’s lives.
