‘SUPACELL’ ACTOR AND RAPPER GHETTS JAILED FOR 12 YEARS OVER FATAL LONDON HIT-AND-RUN
VIOLA DAVIS DELIVERS POWERFUL, REGAL MESSAGE AT NAACP IMAGE AWARDS: “OUR CROWN IS ALREADY OURS, WE JUST NEED TO WEAR IT

Taking the stage, the 60 year old actress began with humility. “I always feel like I’m going to step into feeling like I deserve it,” she said, reflecting on the honor. Davis then opened up about her childhood, describing herself as a “little chocolate girl with thick lips and wide nose in Rhode Island in 1965” who did not see hope or dreams in her future. She shared that, at the time, she simply wanted to be somebody and believed that success would give her significance.
Davis spoke candidly about the journey from that young girl searching for hope and faith to the woman she is today, living what she called a transcendent life. She described her path as a hero’s journey and emphasized that growth and achievement are rarely accomplished alone. She reminded the audience that there is no single person controlling their destiny and encouraged them to claim ownership of their lives.
The award winning actress, who has achieved EGOT status, also offered words of empowerment that resonated deeply with the crowd. “Our crown
has already been bought and paid for, all we have to do is wear it,” she said, urging listeners to recognize their inherent worth and step confidently into it.
During her remarks, Davis made a point to honor individuals whose contributions often go unnoticed. She praised people working at a food pantry in Central Falls that feeds thousands each month, as well as caregivers supporting her mother, who is living with advanced dementia. Addressing them directly, she said, “You are my hero. I see you. Thank you.”
The NAACP Image Awards, presented by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, celebrate excellence in film, television, theatre, music and literature. Other honorees this year included Colman Domingo, who received the President’s Award, and Salt-N-Pepa and DJ Spinderella, who were inducted into the Hall of Fame. Earlier virtual ceremonies also recognized talents such as Kendrick Lamar, Michelle Obama, SZA and Cardi B.

FORMER MIAMI HEAT STAR CHRIS BOSH ‘LUCKY TO BE ALIVE’ AFTER SIGNIFICANT HEALTH SCARE

Basketball Hall of Famer Chris Bosh says he’s “lucky to be alive” after a health scare in which he passed out and woke up to find himself covered in blood.
The former Miami Heat star, whose NBA career ended after a series of blood clots, said in a video posted to social media that he was still recovering, but gave no further details on the nature of the incident. The 41-year-old said in an Instagram video he was preparing for a date with his wife when he collapsed.
“I woke up covered in my own blood,” he said. “It was crazy. It was fast. It was instant. There was no warning. I didn’t have any time to prepare for it.”
Bosh had joined LeBron James and Dwyane Wade in the Heat’s “Big Three” before blood clots – in his lungs and legs – ended his NBA career, forcing him out of the game in the 2015-16 season. At the time he was 31 and still averaging 19.1 points per game and he harbored hopes of returning until finally announcing his retirement in 2019.
The Heat retired his No. 1 jersey in March of that year and he was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2021 in a class that included Paul Pierce, Ben Wallace and Chris Webber.
Bosh said his most recent scare had given him a “simpler and more honest” perspective on life.
He urged fans to act upon their plans and desires for their lives.
“No matter what it is, make sure you don’t wait. That’s the thing that I get from this,” he said.
“Don’t wait to take action because it could come fast. It could come quick. And I’m lucky to be alive, and I feel great about that.
“And now I’m thinking about how I live my day-to-day life. That’s really it. But don’t wait.”

INTERET PERSONALITY CELINE POWELL SENDS CEASE AND DESIST TO YOUTUBER DESHAE FROST OVER STD AND ASSAULT CLAIMS

The letter states that during a January 26 livestream, Frost allegedly told viewers that Powell sexually assaulted him and transmitted herpes to him. Powell’s legal team says the allegations are “completely devoid of factual support” and have “no merit whatsoever.”
Her attorney argues that under Florida law, the accusations amount to defamation per se, noting that falsely alleging someone committed a crime or has an infectious disease qualifies as libel, with damages presumed.
Powell’s representatives claim the statements have already affected her business and professional relationships, alleging that the claims are spreading rapidly online and damaging her reputation.
The letter demands that Frost publicly retract the statements and issue a formal apology across every platform where the claims were made within10 days, warning that failure to do so could result in a lawsuit. It also serves as formal notice of Powell’s intent to pursue civil action for libel and defamation.
The dispute stems from a livestream interaction between the two that quickly gained traction online. Frost has not publicly responded to thecease and desist letter.
