Bozoma Saint John is expanding her collection of diamonds. Keely Watson proposed to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star on August 29 at BOA Steakhouse in West Hollywood, California, in front of roughly 35 close family members and friends. The couple is now engaged.
"This engagement is my testimony: you can rise from grief, reclaim your joy, and still find a love worthy of your 'yes.'" In an interview released on September 3, Bozoma told People. "Keely is evidence that God's plan and timing are flawless. I'm accepting life, love, and the wonder of second chances.
"Even though I knew we wanted to get married, I wasn’t sure where or when Keely would ask," the 48-year-old added. "I am still in shock and disbelief. I was nervous because I thought about how it would be when he asked, and I wanted to be able to be composed through it, but that was hard to do because my emotions were at an all-time high."
Bravo cameras were present for the proposal, which Keely told the outlet he planned himself.
"I really wanted that element of surprise, and so it was a lot of planning and coordinating on my part with the help of her daughter, Lael, and also her assistant, Nico," he said. "I gave her a huge bouquet of 100 roses, which I had ordered in excess of 14 dozen. I constructed a red-draped canopy to pop the question under, and I lined the walkway with candles and a red carpet. There were more candles and roses surrounding the canopy.
The ring, which featured a 4.2 carat oval-cut colorless center diamond set on an 18-carat gold band embellished with an additional 4.23 carats of diamonds, was a custom piece made for Bozoma by Keely in collaboration with Mumbai, India-based 3 Soul Diamond Jewelers.
The pair was introduced by Harmonia Rosales, the wife of Keely's nephew, an artist from whom Bozoma, who was previously married to Peter Saint John for ten years until his death from cancer in 2013, has bought pieces.
And it was pretty obvious to the businessman that they were meant to be when he traveled to Ghana to meet the former Uber executive for their third date.
"The right choice had been made after a protracted search for the one, and I felt like our love for one another would multiply," Keely gushed. "I knew our families would integrate well. I was immediately relieved that all the planning went over so well."
He added, "I was immediately looking toward our future."
