Doja Cat is once again facing backlash after an awkward fan interaction spiraled into a public fallout, resulting in the fan clapping back with a graceful, yet pointed, response. The drama unfolded after a brief encounter outside an event between Doja and TikTok influencer Pablo Tamayo, who offered her a shirt with the words “Hot Boys Kiss Boys.” The moment, initially seen as lighthearted, quickly turned sour when Doja took to social media to accuse him of manhandling her—then insulted him by calling him “musty” and claiming she threw away the shirt he gifted her.
In the now-viral video, Pablo is seen removing his shirt and handing it to Doja Cat while giving her a friendly peck on the cheek. The singer appears receptive in the clip, smiling and seemingly playing along. However, Doja later posted on X (formerly Twitter) that she felt violated by the interaction, stating that she didn’t give permission to be kissed or touched. She claimed she was “very drunk” at the time and didn’t appreciate the
gesture. In the same breath, she doubled down on her disdain by saying, “I threw that musty ass shirt away.”
Doja’s comments quickly ignited a firestorm on social media. Many fans called her out for publicly humiliating a fan who appeared to have approached her with nothing but admiration. Others defended her, emphasizing that no matter how friendly a celebrity may appear, physical contact without consent is unacceptable. Still, the situation left many torn, especially because of the shirt’s message and the fact that the incident happened during Pride Month.
Pablo Tamayo did not remain silent. In a calm and collected video, he explained that he had long admired Doja Cat and never meant to cross any boundaries. He clarified that the interaction had been brief and that the video was taken after Doja had agreed to it. “I would never intentionally make someone uncomfortable,” he said. “But being called musty and accused of manhandling? That’s just hurtful and not true.”
Rather than wallowing in humiliation, Pablo turned the insult into empowerment. He cheekily launched “musty ass shirt” merch online, receiving a wave of support from fans who praised him for handling the situation with humor and grace.
