Once celebrated as hip-hop’s power couple, Remy Ma and Papoose’s relationship has taken a tumultuous turn, with their personal disputes playing out across social media platforms.
The couple's marital Issues became public when Remy Ma accused Papoose of infidelity during her incarceration, sharing alleged text messages between him and one of his children’s mothers. Papoose refuted these claims, asserting that the messages were fabricated and expressing his dismay over the public airing of their private matters.
In response to the escalating tensions, Papoose filed for divorce, citing multiple instances of infidelity on Remy Ma’s part, including alleged affairs with both men and women. He also claimed that Remy Ma has been preventing him from seeing their daughter since their separation .
“Normally I wouldn’t even entertain this, but the fact that you mentioned my children, I’m not letting that ride. Since this whole situation happened, everybody know I never said nothing. The only time I said something was the last time when she tried to clout chase with the whole fake thing she tried to put on Instagram before. But ever since this transpired, I never opened my mouth, never said nothing because that’s not my style. And also, I would never wanna disrespect her, you know what I mean, actions speak way louder than words,” Papoose said in an Instagram live session.
Adding to the complexity, Papoose’s new relationship with boxer Claressa Shields has become a focal point of contention. Remy Ma publicly criticized Shields, leading to a series of online exchanges between the two women. Shields defended her relationship with Papoose, stating, “Yes, we’re going to have a family… Leave me and Pap alone.”
Remy Ma and Papoose’s relationship began in 2004 after an introduction by DJ Kay Slay. What started as a musical bond quickly became romantic. In 2008, Remy was sentenced to eight years in prison for assault after shooting her then friend.
