Michael B. Jordan’s name has surfaced in the high-profile federal trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs, though the actor is not implicated in any wrongdoing. During jury selection, potential jurors were presented with a list of over 190 names, including Jordan’s, to assess any potential biases or conflicts of interest. This inclusion stems from a past connection between Jordan and Combs’ ex-girlfriend, Casandra “Cassie” Ventura.
In a 2023 lawsuit, Ventura accused Combs of various forms of abuse, including sex trafficking and domestic violence. She detailed a “flirtatious relationship” with an unnamed actor in 2015, which allegedly provoked a violent reaction from Combs. Sources have since identified the actor as Michael B. Jordan. Ventura claimed that upon discovering the relationship, Combs threatened Jordan directly. Despite these allegations, Jordan is not expected to testify or be involved further in the trial proceedings.
“Later in 2015, while shooting a movie in Cape Town, South Africa, Ms. Ventura began a flirtatious relationship with an actor. She spent New Years Eve with this actor, but Mr. Combs soon found out. Mr. Combs called the actor and threatened him ; the actor proceeded to call Ms. Ventura and tell her, “you really need to call [Mr. Combs].” This comes after one of Cassie Ventura’s ex – boyfriend rapper Kid Cudi came forward and accused Diddy of blowing up his car after he found out about their relationship.
The trial, which began jury selection on May 5, 2025, involves serious charges against Combs, including sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution. Prosecutors allege that Combs orchestrated events involving coerced sex acts, referred to as “freak offs.” Combs has pleaded not guilty and remains in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn after being denied bail multiple times. The trial is expected to last eight weeks, with Ventura set to testify under her legal name.
