Meghan Markle is eagerly looking forward to returning home to California to witness a special milestone in her son Prince Archie's life—his first lost tooth. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, made an appearance at the TIME100 Summit in New York City on April 23, where she opened up about the joys and challenges of balancing motherhood with her professional commitments. During her conversation at Jazz at Lincoln Center, Meghan shared that her five-year-old son is about to lose his first tooth and expressed her hope to be back in time to see it happen. “It’s about to happen, and I just hope I’m back home in time for it!” she told the audience, noting how events like a loose tooth are just as significant as her business obligations.

Prince Archie, who will turn six on May 6, is reaching this childhood milestone around the same time his cousin, Prince Louis, celebrated his seventh birthday with a cheerful new portrait showing off a smile missing two front teeth. Meghan's comments offer a rare and intimate glimpse into her family life with Prince Harry and their two children, Archie and Princess Lilibet, who is now three. A source recently told PEOPLE that the children are the heart of Harry and Meghan’s life in Montecito, describing their household as a “happy bubble.” The insider added that Archie and Lilibet are “adorable, incredibly smart, articulate, and fun.”

Though the couple’s children did not appear in Meghan’s latest Netflix series, *With Love, Meghan*, she gave subtle insights into their daily life in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE. She spoke warmly about organizing a small winter camp at home during the school break, inviting several families over to connect with other parents and allow the children to enjoy time together. The camp included activities like obstacle courses and face painting. Meghan described the experience as a dream, highlighting the importance of building and contributing to a strong community.

At the TIME100 Summit, Meghan reflected on her current stage in life, saying she’s the happiest she’s ever been. She credited her contentment to having a supportive husband and joyful, healthy children. “I never would have imagined at this point I would feel so happy and grateful, and I really do,” she said, offering a heartfelt glimpse into the deeply personal side of her public life.
