Tony Buzbee has taken to social media to defend himself following Jay Z suing him and his client, currently known as “Jane Doe.” Buzbee claims that Jay Z’s latest lawsuit has no merit. “This new case alleges the same claims as the other one they pieced together and filed in Los Angeles. Like the one in L.A, this new case in Alabama also has no merit,” Buzbee wrote.
Tony Buzbee also claims Sean Carter, famously known as Jay Z and his investigators have constantly harassed, threatened and harangued the lady who he helped file the lawsuit. “ Instead, she had stayed repeatedly she stands by her claims. These same groups of investigators have been caught on tape offering to pay people to sue me and my firm,” he continued.
He concluded by writing, “ After speaking with Jane Doe today, it’s clear to me that the quotes attributed to her in the lawsuit are completely made up or they spoke to someone who isn’t Jane Doe. This is just another attempt to intimidate and bully this poor woman that will deal with in due course. We won’t be bullied or intimidated by frivolous claims.”
In a separate legal filing Monday, Jane Doe said she was sticking with her story. “Although I ultimately chose not to pursue them, I stand by my claims in the New York Action and believe that I had a meritorious claim against Jay-Z,” she said in document filed in California.
Hip-hop and business mogul, Jay-Z filed a defamation lawsuit Monday against the woman who alleged in a now-withdrawn complaint that he and Sean “Diddy” Combs raped her when she was 13, arguing the woman had made false and defamatory statements about him for financial gain. Jay-Z’s lawyers claim that the woman “voluntarily admitted directly to representatives of Mr Carter that the story brought before the world in court and on global television was just that: a false, malicious story”.
