Attorney Tony Buzbee has gone viral for most part of last year for helping sexual assault victims file lawsuits against the disgraced music mogul, Sean Diddy Combs. Buzbee had earlier filed a lawsuit against rapper Jay Z, alleging that the rapper raped a 13 year old girl with Diddy. The victim, going as Jane Doe gave an interview in December that raised questions about her credibility. She admitted that “not all the facts are clear” and stated, “I have made some mistakes. I may have made a mistake in identifying.”
Following the lawsuit being dropped, Jay Z took to social media to share how the lawsuit has not only affected him, but also his family. “ Today is victory. The frivolous, fictitious and appalling allegations have been dismissed. The civil lawsuit was without merit and never going anywhere,” the rapper wrote.
Jay Z also claims that the system has failed since Tony Buzbee is able to file a suit behind Jane Doe and when he realized that the “money grab” is going to fail, he walks away without repercussions. Jay Z also alleges that the allegations have cased immense trauma to his wife, children and loved ones. He went ahead to claim what he endured cannot be dismissed.
He continued, “The court must protect victims, OF COURSE, while with the same ethical responsibility, the courts must protect the innocent from being accused without a shred of evidence. May the truth prevail for all victims and those falsely accused equally.”
Jay Z’s attorney, Alex Spiro echoed similar sentiments, claiming that the rapper never settled or paid anyone to clear his name. “The false allegations against Jay Z, that should never have been brought have been dismissed with prejudice. By standing up in the face of heinous and false allegations, Jay has done what few can – he pushed back, he never settled, he never paid 1 red penny, he triumphed and cleared his name,” Spiro wrote.
