The Super Bowl game was played on February 9, 2025, at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. The event was headlined by rapper Kendrick who performed.
Taylor Swift was booed at the Super Bowl by fans in attendance. Following being booed, Celebrities like Serena Williams expressed their support for the singer. “I love you @taylorswift13 don’t listen to those boooo!” On the other hand, American president, Donald Trump wrote, “The only one that had a tougher night than Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got booed out of the stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving.” This comes after Donald Trump expressed his dislike for Taylor Swift following her endorsing Kamala Harris for president.
Her boyfriend, Travis Kelce lost and even called out by fans who blamed him for being responsible. The game was considered his worst game ever. The sports commentator said, in reference to Taylor Swift and her boyfriend Travis Kelce, “She hasn’t had much to cheer about yet because Travis Kelce hasn’t caught a ball.” Travis Kelce and his team ended losing by 22 points.
The Super Bowl also had a series of bold statements made. During his performance, Kendrick Lamar was standing next to a split American flag to perhaps reference how split the country is. Samuel L. Jackson also performed with Kendrick Lamar and he played the role of a black uncle Sam who would follow Kendrick everywhere he went. Kendrick also made the whole crowd light up with the sign, “warning wrong way.”
Kendrick Lamar also said, “the revolution will be televised. You picked the right time but the wrong guy.” Kendrick Lamar also took shots at fellow rapper Drake following their online feud. Kendrick performed his infamous Drake diss song “Not like us” and even teased that Drake might sue him again. Drake previously sued Universal Music Group for over – promoting “Not like Us” despite the song insinuating that Drake is a pedophile.
During Kendrick’s performance, singer SZA came out and performed two songs. SZA was once rumored to be one of Drake’s exes. Serena Williams, one of Drake’s exes was also in attendance, dancing on stage.
