Irv Gotti, born Irving Domingo Lorenzo Jr. was an American record producer and record executive. His death has greatly impacted the music industry. Gotti died at the age of 54 years on 5 th February 2025. His ex – wife, Debbie Lorenzo took to social media to express her grief following his death.
“ Married, divorced, great friends, and so many life lessons – everything we’ve been through, good and bad has molded me into the woman I am today! God never wastes anything; He uses everything for his ultimate glory! Irv the icon, you ignited the music industry with your presence, vision and talent. You shattered records and did it all on your own terms. You had a truly big heart,” she wrote.
She concluded, “You fought long and hard, now you’re resting. Know that we raised three beautiful, compassionate young adults, and I’m honored that God chose us to be their parents. It brought me joy to see them take such great care of you. Rest well ; I love you my friend.”
His three children, Angie, Sonny and JJ also took to social media to share a heartfelt message. “ It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Irving “Irv Gotti” Lorenzo on February 5 th 2025. Surrounded by family and friends, he departed this world leaving behind a legacy that will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him and countless lives he touched,” they began.
They referred to their father as an incredible man, a true visionary who transformed the hip-hop industry and changed the game for artists and fans alike “His passion for music and dedication for his craft inspired many and his contributions will continue to influence future generations.”
They concluded, “ As we navigate this difficult time, we kindly ask for privacy while we grieve the loss of our dad, son, brother, uncle and friend. We take comfort in knowing that his spirit will live on through his music and the love he shared with all of us. Thank you for your understanding and support during this challenging time.”
