Mattel has honored the late Aaliyah, the beloved Princess of R&B, with a stunning addition to its Music Series Barbie collection. The tribute was unveiled on what would have been Aaliyah’s 46th birthday, a fitting celebration of her enduring legacy.

Inspired by her iconic “One in a Million” music video, the Aaliyah Barbie doll captures her signature style with an all-black faux leather outfit, complete with studded silver pants, gloves, and sunglasses. The doll has already sold out on Mattel’s website, a testament to her timeless influence.

Rashad Haughton, Aaliyah’s brother, collaborated closely with Mattel on the project. “It’s emotional but wonderful,” he shared. “It continues dreams we had when she was here.”

Placing Aaliyah alongside legends like David Bowie and Stevie Nicks in Mattel’s Music Series underscores her impact on pop culture. Rashad called the doll “a dream come true” that celebrates his sister’s unparalleled artistry and keeps her legacy alive for new generations.
