As a celebrity and mother of four, Kim Kardashian is no stranger to the challenges of parenthood. But in a recent candid interview, the SKIMS founder revealed the heartbreaking truth about raising her children without her ex-husband Kanye West.
"Basically raising four kids by myself here is...insane," Kardashian told friend and podcast host Zoe Winkler. The 44-year-old shares 11-year-old North, 8-year-old Saint, 6-year-old Chicago and 5-year-old Psalm with the 47-year-old rapper, from whom she officially divorced in 2022.
Despite having a strong support system, Kardashian confessed to sometimes feeling "alone" in her parenting duties. "Sometimes in the middle of the night when they're all sleeping in your bed kicking you and crying and waking up; it's not something that I talk about a lot because I feel like there is always a lot of judgment," she shared.
Even with the resources to have help, the Calabasas native said the day-to-day realities of getting her kids to school are "madness." "I mean even carpool this morning, I had five kids that I had to take," she revealed. "And everyone wants to leave at like different times or wants different stuff. And I feel like I'm at like a pit stop of a race car driver."
Kardashian's candor offers a rare glimpse into the challenges of co-parenting in the public eye, especially after a high-profile split. Following her divorce from West, the rapper has continued to make headlines for reported erratic behavior and controversial statements.
She insisted that she has made efforts, time and time again with a goal to keep a civil relationship just for the sake of their children. As she told GQ in 2023, "Ultimately, what matters is that kids feel loved and heard. You want to be sensitive because they're just kids, and it's hard to go through no matter what age."
Though Kardashian is no longer romantically involved with West, a source told People in October that she is "very much focused on being a mom" and doesn't have time for dating.
"Although she has help, it's still a lot of work for her to balance and coordinate everything," the insider added.
