The “little mermaid” actress, Halle Bailey faced immense backlash that prompted her to deactivate her X account. This is after she expressed her disappointment and frustration after her ex-boyfriend and father of her child, rapper and YouTuber DDG took their child Halo on Kai Cenat’s live stream. “Hi everyone. Just so you know I am out of town and I don’t approve of my baby being on a stream tonight,” Halle wrote in a since-deleted post. “I wasn’t told or notified and I am extremely upset to have my baby in front of millions of people.” “I am his mother and protector and saddened that I wasn’t notified especially when I am out of town,” she said.

The 24-year-old singer, who gave birth to her first child last year, cited her “severe” postpartum depression as something that furthered her concerns about her child’s safety. “As a woman experiencing severe postpartum, there are boundaries that I wish to be respected. No one knows what someone is going through until they snap,” Halle wrote.

The actress and singer faced backlash from social media users, with some accusing her of being “bitter” after her break-up with DDG. “Halle complaining about the babydad she told us to mind our business,” one user wrote. “Hi Halle, A child is brought into the world by both a mother and a father, and both have vital roles. I understand your protective instincts for your baby, but it’s important to recognize that the father also has the right to spend time with his son. While you may feel the need to control how he interacts with your child, he deserves the freedom to engage as a co-parent.”

After the backlash from fans online, Halle reactivated her social media accounts and wrote a message to her fans, claiming she might have overreacted. “Yesterday maybe I did overreact and shouldn’t have brought it here,” Halle Bailey wrote of the situation with DDG, their son Halo, and the Kai Cenat stream. “I know that halo is always safe with his dad. I just don’t like finding out with the rest of the world what my baby is doing. Thank u kai for the gifts for halo [heart emoji] [star emoji].”
