Nelly and Kelly Rowland stirred memories at the 2024 Baby2Baby Gala on November 9 as they made a surprise performance of their chart-topping song from 2002, Dilemma. The impromptu duet went down at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, where the duo was treated like heroes for the special occasion. Stars on hand included Jenna Dewan and Chrissy Teigen, who caught the magic of the night on Instagram. Dewan captioned, “I love this so much,” while Chrissy Teigen shared a video of Rowland giving Nelly a squeeze with her arm around him as they grooved on stage.
The reunion of the two was one of the high points of the evening, reminiscent of their original success with Dilemma more than two decades ago, when the song topped the Billboard Hot 100 for nine successive weeks and took the Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration. Since then, its legacy has grown further by reaching over a billion views on YouTube and remaining a favorite classic in both pop and R&B.
The performance by Rowland and Nelly was but one part of the gala-a standout in a history of appearances from major celebrities that have reaped in millions upon millions in funds for Baby2Baby, a nonprofit providing essential resources to children living in poverty. Kelly Rowland, on Baby2Baby’s board of directors, even amazed with her fashion choice: a feathered gown in striking color amping up the glamour of the evening. Also among the attending stars were Charlize Theron, who received the Giving Tree Award for her activism, and Ashanti, who was spotted with Nelly.
