The “super bass” rapper, Nicki Minaj has unfollowed Ice Spice and former City Girls rapper, JT. This is after eagle-eyed fans realized that both JT and Ice Spice follow Nicki Minaj but she doesn't follow them back.
Nicki Minaj has collaborated with both Ice Spice and JT, therefore, her unfollowing them is a surprise to many fans. This comes months after Ice Spice was put on blast by her ex-best friend, Baby Storme for calling Nicki bitter, jealous and delusional. Fans speculate Nicki has finally taken action against the “betrayal.”
“We don’t have the closest relationship, you know? But we’re definitely good. We’re mutuals. We had smash records together. I love us together. I think the world does too,” Ice told Rolling Stone last month, when asked about her relationship with Nicki Minaj.
Ice Spice also went ahead to elaborate on what she meant on the text messages her friend leaked. “I don’t really think [Nicki] cares about shit like that coming from a random girl,” she said. “But what I said in those texts was just in a moment of frustration around contract negotiations. I could have chose different words.”
She also revealed how much she respects and admires Nicki Minaj as an artist. “But at the end of the day, regardless of how I felt in that moment, [Nicki] is still somebody I respect as an artist, and I’m always going to admire everything she’s done for me and the culture.”
As for JT, Nicki had once made it clear that she will never work with her or her former group mate, Yung Miami after a diss track aimed at Nicki resurfaced. “The thing is, whenever you post something on the internet, it’s there forever. Whenever you say something in an interview, it’s there forever,” Nicki explained in an interview with The Morning Hustle in 2022.
“So if I, as a regular human, was about to go to dinner with you tonight and then I get something that says, ‘Yo, she don’t really fuck with you like that, she was saying this and she don’t really like you, and she said she hopes you actually never pop or never flourish’… I’m not going out to dinner with you anymore because now I know that I like you but you really don’t like me.”
JT and Nicki seemed to have put the past behind after collaborating on “Super Freaky Girl” remix. The remix had other rappers like Akbar V, Maliibu, Katie Got Bandz, and Bia. JT has also showed her support for Nicki numerous times on social media and vice versa. The 41 year old rapper also performed with JT in Boston.
