In regards to Beyoncé and Jay-Z's twins, Tina Knowles is placing her cards on the table. The mother of the "Texas Hold 'Em" singer, the fashion designer, couldn't help but gush about Rumi Carter and Sir Carter, both seven, as they each pursue their own distinct talents.
At Debbie Allen, Jordan Cooper, and Jack Mizrahi's Remember My Name Ball on August 17, which benefits LGBTQ+ nonprofit Destination Tomorrow, Tina exclusively told E! News's Francesca Amiker, "Rumi is a natural little star, and Sir is more into books and electronics."
With a thought to the twins' diverse interests, ranging from physics to art, the 70-year-old said, "We got them all, raising them up right."
If Rumi chooses to follow in her 12-year-old sister Blue Ivy Carter's footsteps and serve as their mother's backup dancer, Tina thinks that Rumi will "not be denied" a seat on stage. "They're all artists," she exclaimed. "How could they not?" However, Tina observed that her grandchildren don't usually take pride in their abilities, with Blue even pressuring her to "swear to secrecy" over her undiscovered piano prowess.
Nevertheless, the tween, who co-stars with Beyoncé in Mufasa: The Lion King, "blows away" the grandmother. Tina went on, "She sounds like a concert pianist and is self-taught." She writes poetry, sketches, and paints. She is merely a creative soul."
"I'm really, really proud of her," she continued. I eagerly await the world to truly hear." Furthermore, Tina is a strong supporter of young people pursuing their artistic goals. She was so overjoyed to lend her support to the annual house-ballroom event, Remember My Name Ball, which also happens to benefit the Debbie Allen Dance Academy.
When Tina told E! at the charity dance, "This is just such an important place," Debbie Allen, who has evolved beyond simply appreciating her dancing and what she contributes to the culture, So, when she calls me, I'm there!"
