Megan Thee Stallion has a small favor to ask of Beyoncé. The 29-year-old Grammy-winning rapper joined her close friend GloRilla on a recent
episode of Instagram's Close Friends Only podcast, where she took the opportunity to ask her collaborator, Beyoncé, 42, for a spot in her exclusive inner circle on social media.
“Beyoncé, if you have a Close Friends, could you please add me and Glo?” Megan asked playfully, while GloRilla, 25, chimed in, “Please!”
GloRilla then revealed that she already has Beyoncé included in her own Close Friends list, prompting Megan to jokingly call her“delusional.” GloR illa laughed and added, “She’ll never see it, but hey, I’ve got her in my Close Friends.”
Before this, the two bonded over their shared admiration for Beyoncé. GloRilla confessed that she was thrilled when she first met the global superstar, while Megan found it difficult to recall their first encounter, admitting she still gets nervous around Beyoncé.
“Talking about Beyoncé still makes me anxious,” Megan shared. “Like, Beyoncé is really Beyoncé. Your mama named you Beyoncé because she knew you were going to be that girl. There’s no other Beyoncé in the world.”
The "Mamushi" rapper continued, “I don’t know, I just love Beyoncé. I can’t even remember the first time I met her because I feel like I’m so cool now that I’ve seen her a few times.”
GloRilla also shared her excitement about meeting Beyoncé, saying, “I get so nervous. I’ve met her twice, and each time it feels like I’m floating.”
"I'm completely obsessed with Beyoncé," she told Megan, who responded, "You can’t say anything bad about Beyoncé in front of me because, girl, you might not make it out. If you’re hating on Beyoncé, you’re just a hater."
Both Megan and GloRilla have had their own special moments with Beyoncé. Megan famously collaborated with her on the 2020 "Savage" remix, which earned her two of her first three Grammy Awards and helped Beyoncé break the record as the artist with the most Grammy wins.
GloRilla, on the other hand, met Beyoncé at the 2023 Grammy Awards andagain at the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards. On the Pivot podcast in April, she recalled meeting the superstar at the iHeartRadio Awards, saying she was initially nervous when she walked by Beyoncé’s room but was eventually invited in.
"I was like, 'Oh, wow!' I was kind of scared," GloRilla said. "They asked if I could talk to Beyoncé, and she let me in her room. I was like, 'Ahhhh!' She’s always so kind to me. I feel like she loves me as much as I love her!”
GloRilla and Megan recently wrapped up Megan's Hot Girl Summer tour in London on July 17. Their friendship seems to have grown stronger since their time on the road together. Megan even posted a special birthday message for GloRilla last month, writing on Instagram, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THEE THICKEST ALIVEEEE. I can’t believe I don’t see you every single day anymore, it feels weird I miss you, I love you. I hope you take a shot for me in Jamaica! I thank God for another year with you on this planet.
