Stephen Curry’s wife, Ayesha Curry, found herself in a distressing situation following Team USA's gold medal victory over France in the 2024 Paris Olympics. While Curry was celebrating with teammates, a tense encounter unfolded involving Ayesha, her newborn son Caius, and French police. A video that surfaced online shows Ayesha wiping away tears as she, her mother-in-law Sonya, and Golden State Warriors teammate Draymond Green confronted local authorities.

The incident reportedly began when the Curry family, along with Green, attempted to return to their car. However, they were blocked by police, leading to a heated exchange. Sonya Curry was heard expressing her frustration, saying, "Look, they won’t let us go back to where we came from... They won’t let the driver come here and they won’t let us go back there.” The situation escalated when someone allegedly hit baby Caius in the head amidst the chaos. Green, visibly upset, confronted the authorities, asking, “So even after y’all hit the baby in the head, there’s still nothing y’all can do to get them out of here?”

Throughout the ordeal, Ayesha remained silent but visibly emotional, clutching Caius tightly. A man was seen trying to mediate by translating and apologizing on behalf of the police, saying, "I’m sorry about the baby." However, tensions remained high, with Sonya eventually pleading with officers, "Just let us get to our car."

The incident cast a shadow over what should have been a celebratory moment for the Curry family, marking Stephen’s first Olympic gold medal. Despite the turmoil, neither Stephen nor Ayesha has publicly commented on the confrontation.

Caius Chai, born prematurely in May, is the youngest of the Curry children, joining siblings Riley, Ryan, and Canon. Stephen Curry, who is entering his 16th NBA season, is celebrated as the most prolific three-point shooter in history and has a decorated career with four NBA titles, two MVP awards, and a Finals MVP to his name.
