The 29-year-old Olympic gold medalist recently shared a video on Instagram showing her spending time at World Champions Center, the Houston-based gym where she has trained throughout her career. Joined by a friend, Biles decided to see whether she could still perform some of the skills that made her one of the most decorated gymnasts in history.
"Whew, okay, I'm at the gym," Biles said at the beginning of the video, which featured the caption, "old girl, same tricks."
The gymnast explained that she was simply having some fun and wanted to find out whether she still had the ability to execute her trademark skills. She then performed several flips on the mat while her friend recorded her.
Biles appeared to be having fun throughout the session, laughing and reacting to herself as she worked through the movements. At one point, she could be heard saying, "Oh no!" before joking about experiencing a cramp.
After completing several flips, Biles dramatically collapsed onto the mat while laughing. When her friend checked on her, she joked that the short workout already felt like she had completed an entire floor routine.
"I feel like I just competed a floor routine," Biles said. "I can't breathe, so I'm leaving," she added before blowing a kiss toward the camera.
Biles later captioned the video, "scheduling a massage ASAP 😅," highlighting just how demanding the brief gymnastics session felt.
The official USA Gymnastics account joined the fun in the comments, writing that Biles "does in fact still got it." Fans also noticed several young gymnasts watching from the background as Biles performed her flips.
One fan joked about the experience of attending practice and suddenly seeing Biles casually demonstrate that she still has her skills. Fellow Olympic gold medalist Max Whitlock also commented, warning Biles that she would probably feel the effects of the workout the following day.
The video quickly sparked another question among fans: could Biles be considering a return to competition?
Several followers used the comments to ask about her plans for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Biles has not confirmed whether she intends to compete at the Games, but her return to the gym was enough to fuel speculation among supporters.
The conversation comes shortly after fellow gymnast Jordan Chiles announced plans to return to competition ahead of the 2028 Olympics, adding further excitement among fans hoping to see some familiar faces back on the gymnastics stage.
