WNBA star Angel Reese has received one of pop culture's most recognizable honors after Barbie unveiled a Signature Doll created in her likeness ahead of the 2026 WNBA All Star Weekend.
The new collectible celebrates Reese's impact both on and off the basketball court. Alongside the doll, Barbie and Reebok also introduced a special edition Angel Reese 1 basketball shoe in a Barbie inspired color scheme, with a matching version made available for fans.
Barbie said Reese was chosen not only for her achievements as a professional athlete but also for her commitment to empowering young people through the Angel C. Reese Foundation. The organization supports girls and underserved communities by expanding access to sports, education, financial literacy and other life changing opportunities.
Speaking about the honor, the 24-year-old Atlanta Dream forward described the experience as a dream come true. Reese said becoming part of the Barbie legacy carried special meaning because she was affectionately known as Bayou Barbie during her college basketball career at Louisiana State University.She explained that the doll represents much more than basketball. For Reese, it is an opportunity to encourage young girls to believe in themselves, dream without limits and embrace who they are with confidence.
The basketball star revealed that seeing the finished doll for the first time was an emotional moment. She praised the attention to detail, saying the designers carefully captured both her athletic and personal style.
The doll features details inspired by Reese's career, including jersey numbers associated with the Atlanta Dream, Chicago Sky and LSU. It also includes her signature leggings, headband and Barbie pink Reebok sneakers.
Reese said what impressed her most was that the doll reflected her personality as much as her appearance. She believes it showcases her passion for basketball while highlighting her love of fashion, proving young women do not have to choose between athletic excellence and personal expression.
Growing up, Reese said she loved Barbie and admired the brand's message that girls can pursue any dream they choose. She hopes children who play with her doll will feel inspired to be confident and authentic.
Representation, she added, is especially important for young Black girls. Reese hopes seeing a doll that resembles them will remind them they belong in every space and should never limit their ambitions.
Looking ahead, Reese encouraged young people to pursue multiple passions. While basketball opened doors for her, she has also built business ventures, entered the fashion world, expanded her charitable foundation and partnered with global brands. On the court, she remains focused on helping the Atlanta Dream compete for a WNBA championship while continuing to grow her legacy beyond the game.
