Florida Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna has confirmed that she spoke directly with rapper Nicki Minaj following alarming remarks made by Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE) affiliate Mack Wop during a livestream, which Minaj perceived as threatening.
The situation unfolded when Mack Wop, during a livestream amid an online back-and-forth between Minaj and singer SZA, said, “Hey, Nicki, relax… relax before you get put in a blender like your boy did.” The comment, widely interpreted as a threat, prompted Minaj to take immediate action by tagging law enforcement and reaching out to Luna via social media. Minaj stated that she had notified the FBI and CIA and requested protection, calling for the man to be investigated and arrested.
Congresswoman Luna swiftly responded to Minaj’s public plea, assuring the rapper of her support. She urged Minaj to text her directly so she could forward the information to law enforcement, emphasizing that threats of violence and assassination are serious and must be treated accordingly. Luna also offered words of concern and told Minaj that they would speak soon.
The following day, Luna confirmed through her social media accounts and interviews that she had spoken with Minaj directly. She reiterated her commitment to ensuring the rapper’s safety and stated that her office would do everything in its power to support her. Luna added that threats of violence and assassination must be taken seriously and mentioned that involvement in organized criminal activity, such as RICO violations, is also a matter of concern.
