Iman Shumpert’s attorney, Stephen Steel, denies claims that his client leaked personal information regarding his divorce from Teyana Taylor. In legal documents filed earlier this week, Taylor claimed that the reports from Shumpert misrepresented how their assets were divided. She asserted that there was no actual “settlement” in their divorce, but rather, both parties were given what the court awarded them.
“My client, Mr. Iman Shumpert, has never whatsoever leaked any allegations or claims stated in any of the pleadings in the Taylor/Shumpert divorce case,” the attorney stated in an exclusive chat with TMZ Sports. He claims Shumpert adamantly denies providing any information to the public.
He concluded by saying, “As agreed by the parties, and as ordered by the court, he has not, and he will not disclose any of the contents of the now sealed file, nor will he reveal or discuss the substance or content of any orders or pleadings.”
Teyana Taylor took to social media to clarify and deny the allegations against her, including taking multiple assets, cars and properties from her ex – husband, Iman Shumpert. She claims they both left with what they came with to the marriage. Taylor admitted to filing a legal motion alleging Iman Shumpert leaked misleading information about their split to seemingly promote his new rap song. Taylor claims, “My biggest mistake, but something I don’t regret, was giving him the amount of grace that I gave him.”
Following the reports that Teyana Taylor received a $1 million divorce settlement, her mother and manager, Nikki Taylor denied the claims. “ It’s awful strange that the case is sealed from a divorce that was finalized in July 1, 2024 ; but all this information as to what she allegedly got is public this week?” she wrote. She made it clear that both parties walked with the properties, vehicles and businesses they obtained separately.”
