Megan Thee Stallion is still processing her breakup with Klay Thompson, admitting the split happened so suddenly that she remains shocked months later.
The 31-year-old rapper opened up about the end of her relationship with the NBA star in a new Marie Claire cover story published Tuesday, Sept. 29. Megan and Thompson were first linked in summer 2025 before ending their relationship in April.
"I'm not pretending I'm 100 percent okay," Megan said, acknowledging that the breakup has been difficult to move past.
"I ain't never been through nothing like that in my whole life," she continued. "I've never, ever, ever been in a relationship like that, ever. So I'm definitely not worried about another one for a long time."
Megan was even more blunt about how suddenly everything ended.
"It was so abrupt. I'm in shock still," she said.
The rapper said the relationship had left her feeling constantly anxious and on edge, something she now sees as a sign that things were not right.
"When something is meant for you, it's gonna be easy," she explained. "It's gonna be right. It's not gonna feel like a panic all the time."
"I feel like that's what I was in, constantly on edge," Megan added. "My nervous system needed to calm down. I feel like I was in a panic 24/7. I'm still not eating all the way right. I'm feeling all the feelings. I'm not trying to take no shortcuts."
Megan also admitted that she had ignored her own instincts at times because she kept giving the relationship the benefit of the doubt.
"Sometimes I be knowing in my gut and in my heart, then you give so much benefit of the doubt," she said. "No, the gut is always right. Listen."
She made it clear that romance is nowhere near the top of her list right now.
The split came after Megan publicly accused Thompson of cheating and having "HORRIBLE mood swings" when she announced their breakup on Instagram in April.
Now, Megan is putting her energy into herself and her music, including the next chapter of her Megan album series.
