On Feb. 26, the 38-year-old singer shared a timestamped video on Instagram offering fans a look at a typical day in her life. The clip also included a subtle tease that she is back in the studio working on new music.
The video began shortly after 9 p.m., with Rihanna arriving at a meeting for her lingerie brand, Savage X Fenty. She greeted colleagues before reviewing designs, inspecting fabric samples and approving final details. As CHIC’s “Le Freak” played in the background, she also signed copies of her albums Loud, Music of the Sun and "Good Girl Gone Bad".
During the meeting, which stretched close to 2 a.m., Rihanna mentioned that her night was far from over. She explained that she still had plans to head to the studio afterward and then create a Mardi Gras costume for her son. Calling it her longest day ever, she kept pushing through the packed schedule.
By around 2:30 a.m., she was in the studio. Although she recorded footage of the session, she muted the audio so fans could not hear what she was working on. The move immediately sparked speculation that she may be preparing her long awaited ninth studio album. Rihanna has not
released an album since Anti in 2016, though she did drop the song “Friend of Mine” in 2025 for the Smurfs movie soundtrack.
The mother of three shares sons RZA, 3, and Riot, 2, along with daughter Rocki, born in September, with A$AP Rocky. Despite her late night, Rihanna revealed that she had not slept when it was time to switch into mom mode at 7 a.m. She began crafting Riot’s Mardi Gras outfit, gluing sequins and green feathers onto an umbrella and decorating denim pants.
By 8:30 a.m., the costume was complete. Riot modeled the embellished blazer and pants while Rihanna joined in wearing a metallic Mardi Gras mask. She captioned the post “Commercial break,” ending the video without confirming whether she ever got some rest.
The glimpse into her routine comes during a busy stretch that includes supporting A$AP Rocky at New York Fashion Week and teasing a new Dior J’adore fragrance launch.
