Undefeated boxing champion Claressa Shields has officially escalated her legal battle  against 50 Cent. During a series of media appearances this week, including a sit-down on Way Up With Angela Yee, Shields confirmed that her legal team has served the G- Unit mogul with a cease and desist letter following his persistent claims that she cheated on her partner, rapper Papoose.

The conflict, which has simmered since New Year’s Day, reached a breaking point on March 14, 2024, when 50 Cent (born Curtis Jackson) shared a series of posts to his 38 million followers. In the now-deleted posts, Jackson utilized AI-generated imagery and videos to suggest that Shields was involved in a romantic relationship with a G-Unit affiliate known as Maserati Bud. 50 Cent doubled down on the narrative, claiming

Shields was “two-timing” Papoose and mocking the couple’s appearance. Shields, 31, was quick to fire back, labeling the claims as complete fabrications intended to harass her during “Women’s History Month.” Speaking on the legal action, Shields told Yee, “My legal squad sent a cease and desist to 50 Cent. My message was simple: say what you want, but don’t lie.” She emphasized that she has never had a romantic or sexual relationship with Maserati Bud in any capacity.

The situation was further complicated when Maserati Bud himself entered the fray, releasing alleged text messages and videos to suggest he and Shields were together as recently as Christmas 2025. Bud claimed Shields ended their “polyamorous” arrangement to be exclusively with Papoose. Shields vehemently denied these “receipts,” releasing her own screen recordings of DMs to prove the interactions were strictly professional or fabricated.

This legal maneuver follows a highly public “rap beef” between 50 Cent and Papoose. After 50 Cent began trolling the couple in January, Papoose responded with a series of diss tracks, including “Agent Provocateur,” which took shots at Jackson’s finances and health. Jackson’s pivot to targeting Shields’ fidelity is viewed by many as a retaliatory strike in their ongoing social media war.

Despite the digital storm, Shields maintained that her relationship with Papoose remains “G-W-O-A-T status.” She revealed that the couple, who went public in 2024 following Papoose’s separation from Remy Ma, are already planning to start a family in 2027. For now, Shields says she is focusing on her upcoming title defense while her lawyers handle the “defamatory” antics of the “Pettyverse” king.
