Broadway is about to welcome a new kind of star power. Producers of the Tony Award-winning spectacle Moulin Rouge! The Musical have announced that Megan Thee Stallion will join the final weeks of the production in a historic casting choice.

The Houston-born rapper and performer, known for her chart-topping hits and bold artistic presence, will step into the flamboyant role of Zidler, the mastermind behind Paris's most legendary nightclub, for a strictly limited eight-week engagement. Her run begins Tuesday, March 24, and continues through Sunday, May 17, at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.

"Joining Moulin Rouge! on Broadway is an absolute honor," Megan shared. "I've always pushed myself creatively, and theater is a thrilling new challenge. Broadway demands a unique level of storytelling and discipline, and I can't wait for the Hotties to see a new side of me."

Megan's casting marks a global milestone: she is the first female-identifying performer to embody Zidler, a role first brought to life on screen by Jim Broadbent in Baz Luhrmann's 2001 film. Stage veterans including Danny Burstein, Tituss Burgess, Boy George, Wayne Brady, and Bob the Drag Queen have previously played the character.

Producer Carmen Pavlovic called Megan's arrival "a groundbreaking moment for the production as it prepares to bow out of Broadway. Megan is a cultural force whose impact transcends music, and her presence ensures the show closes with a spectacular flourish. Theatergoers may even catch a hint of her own hits in the mix."

Moulin Rouge! The Musical, directed by Tony winner Alex Timbers with a book by John Logan, blends classic film songs with contemporary chart-toppers, telling the story of love, ambition, and bohemian life in early 20th-century Paris. Its final curtain falls July 26, capping a seven-year Broadway run that has captivated audiences worldwide.
