Mickey Lee, a contestant on the most recent season of CBS's Big Brother, has died at the age of 35, her family confirmed. The reality television personality passed away on Christmas Day after suffering what relatives described as a "series of cardiac arrests."
The news was shared in a statement posted to Lee's official Instagram account on Friday, Dec. 26. "With profound sadness, the family of Mickey Lee announces her transition on Christmas in the early evening," the message read. "Mickey captured the hearts of audiences nationwide through her appearance on Big Brother, where her authenticity, strength and spirit left a lasting impression on fans and fellow cast members alike."
According to a GoFundMe page created on Dec. 22 to support Lee's medical expenses, she had been admitted to the intensive care unit earlier this week following multiple cardiac events. The fundraiser described Lee as a "vibrant, strategic and unforgettable personality" whose health took a sudden and devastating turn.
Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Lee was based in Atlanta, Georgia, where she worked as an event curator and creative professional. Friends and supporters said her career reflected the same energy and originality viewers later saw during her time on the reality competition series.
Lee appeared on the most recent season of Big Brother, where she quickly became known for her bold gameplay, candid confessionals and ability to form genuine connections inside the house. She ultimately placed 10th in the competition and was evicted during Week 8, but remained a memorable presence among fans of the show.
