A newly released memoir, allegedly written by Kim Porter, the late ex-girlfriend of Sean "Diddy" Combs, is being condemned as fraudulent by Combs’ attorney. Porter's family is also considering legal action, according to a source close to them, as reported by PEOPLE.
The book, titled KIM'S LOST WORDS: A Journey for Justice from the Other Side, was self-published on Amazon on September 6. Following Combs’ indictment on sex trafficking and related charges on September 17, the memoir quickly climbed to the top of Amazon’s Literature & Fiction list.
The 58-page book, rife with typos and inaccuracies, includes unsettling claims about Combs and other celebrities, along with allegations of physical abuse against Porter.
Erica Wolf, Combs' lawyer, called the memoir “fake,” “offensive,” and “a shameless attempt to profit from a tragedy.” The cover, featuring a photo of Porter, claims the work was written by "Jamal T. Millwood" for "Kimberly A. Porter," although Chris Todd, also known as Todd Guzze, is the actual author behind the pseudonym.
“Chris Todd has no respect for Ms. Porter or her family,” Wolf stated. “Contrary to the lies in his sickening 'memoir,' Kim Porter died of natural causes. May she rest in peace.”
Porter's family is exploring legal options, particularly against those involved in publishing this false narrative. A family source confirmed Porter never wrote any manuscript, and the fabricated book has caused undue distress to her loved ones.
Chris Todd, the book's publisher, defended himself, telling PEOPLE, “Would Chris Todd risk his reputation on something fake? Number one on Amazon.” In a separate interview with Rolling Stone, Todd admitted, "Maybe not 100% of the book is true, but maybe 80% is."
Porter and Combs shared a long history, welcoming three children together, Christian in 1998 and twins D'Lila and Jessie in 2006. Combs also raised Porter’s son Quincy from her previous relationship with Al B. Sure.
Al B. Sure, 56, denounced the book as “unauthorized” in an Instagram post, calling for legal action. Porter’s close friend, Eboni Elektra, also confirmed Porter never wrote a memoir.
Meanwhile, Combs remains in custody at Brooklyn's Metropolitan Detention Center, awaiting his trial in early October.
