In a dramatic turn of events, a Tennessee judge has intervened to halt the foreclosure auction of Elvis Presley's iconic Graceland estate, just
one day before it was slated to go under the hammer, according to reports from local Memphis news outlet WREG.
Shelby County Chancellor Joe Dae Jenkins issued a temporary injunction on Wednesday, effectively preventing the sale of the legendary property. Jenkins cited the uniqueness of the real estate under Tennessee law, emphasizing that the loss of Graceland would constitute irreparable
harm. This decision comes amid mounting concerns regarding the legitimacy of documents related to the property.
At the heart of the legal dispute is a Deed of Trust from 2018, purportedly signed by the late Lisa Marie Presley, Elvis's daughter, and listing Graceland as collateral for a $3.8 million loan obtained from Naussany Investments & Private Lending. However, questions have arisen regarding the authenticity of Lisa Marie's signature, with a notary associated with the deed denying her involvement.
Actress Riley Keough, Lisa Marie's daughter and the sole beneficiary of the Presley family estate, has taken legal action,against Naussany Investments alleging fraud in a lawsuit filed in Shelby County Chancery Court. Keough asserts that her mother never borrowed money from thecompany nor granted them a Deed of Trust.
Gregory Naussany, representing the Florida-based firm, has refuted these claims, stating that Naussany Investments is prepared to present evidence to refute Keough's allegations. Despite the company's denial, Judge Jenkins expressed confidence in Keough's case, suggesting that she would likely prevail if her lawyer, Jeff Germany, could substantiate the fraud allegations.
