When it comes to her children's birthdays, Beyoncé can make the world stop. The audience's response on the fourth night of the Cowboy Carter tour at London's Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on June 12 served as evidence. On the day of her performance, Beyoncé and Jay-Z's twins, Sir and Rumi Carter, celebrated their eighth birthdays. The singer made sure the crowd showed them some love by performing "Protector."

Before her 13-year-old eldest daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, joined them at the front of the stage, Beyoncé held Rumi close as she serenaded her. "Everyone say happy birthday, Rumi," the "Dangerously in Love" singer said to the audience in honor of her child's special day.

Rumi waved excitedly at the audience as they repeated the phrase back to her, and her big sister gave her a tender chin-touch. Beyoncé made sure her son felt loved even though he wasn't performing with his sisters by saying to the audience, "Say happy birthday, Sir," and then, "I love you."

Since the beginning of their mother's tour, Rumi and Blue have both been on stage with her. Fans have indeed watched as Rumi's emotional outbursts during "Protector" have stolen the show.

Since making her stage debut with her mother on the Renaissance World Tour in 2022, Blue has developed into a principal dancer who performs on stage several times throughout the show's more than three-hour runtime.

Beyoncé, who wed Jay-Z in 2008, has previously offered her perspective on the Carter family's domestic life.

It's difficult to raise three children. The singer of "Break My Soul" told GQ in 2024 that as people age, they become more independent with their own needs, interests, and social lives. "My twins are a gift from God. Being a parent teaches you a lot about yourself. It requires patience and a lot of prayer. I adore it. It is gratifying and grounding.

Someone else who has witnessed Blue, Rumi, and Sir's abilities up close? Tina Knowles, their grandmother, recently gave her grandchildren praise.

In March, the author of Matriarch told E! News, "Oh, I'm so proud of Rumi." "Every single one of my grandchildren is incredible."
