Isabella Strahan is honoring a delayed achievement. The daughter of Michael Strahan recently celebrated her 19th birthday last year, during which she was rendered comatose following emergency surgery for brain cancer, by spending the day making cupcakes with friends and family. Laughing, Isabella remarked, We're doing a little birthday celebration because I was not conscious of it, in a May 28 vlog that was uploaded to YouTube.Happy
birthday!

In a video showcasing her past, Isabella seemed to be dozing off in her hospital bed as her twin sister Sophia Strahan adorned the space with balloons. Isabella's other friends were gathered around the bed in the meantime. One day before turning 19, on October 27, Isabella had surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from the base of her brain. Isabella had a bloody vomiting fit just two days before the procedure, which made her seek medical attention for excruciating migraines.

About the experience, her father Michael said in a January interview with ABC News that it sent a signal about how serious it was, recalling how the physicians advised her to get the malignant growth removed as soon as possible. There were moments when she was really hurting, he went on. She was taking lots of naps.

Isabella had to spend a month in rehabilitation following the surgery to regain her ability to walk. She began radiation treatment in January, and the following month, she began chemotherapy.  Subsequently, the model has experienced three rounds of chemotherapy and two further brain surgeries.
