In November 2023, Cassandra Ventura filed A lawsuit against the bad boy rapper Diddy. He was accused of sexual assault and physical abuse. The singer alleged that during their decade long relationship, she endured a cycle of abuse, violence and sex trafficking. After the lawsuit dropped, Diddy settled it outside court, a day after in New York city.
A video obtained by CNN from different angles captures the music mogul chasing Cassie down the corridors before attacking her. This incident occurred at the Intercontinental hotel in Century city, Los Angeles. Diddy is seen kicking Ms. Ventura and retrieves a purse and a suitcase from her. CNN also reports that Combs paid $50,000 to the hotel in exchange for the hallway footage. This video confirms Ms. Ventura’s allegations because in her lawsuit, she referenced an altercation that happened at around March, 2016, claiming that Mr. Combs was very intoxicated and that he punched Ms. Ventura.
When Diddy posted “Time tells truth” amid his sexual assault and trafficking allegations, reality star and entrepreneur Peter Thomas showed his support for Diddy, claiming that he has been behind him from day one, however, after the video of Diddy viciously attacking Cassie was released, he changed his mind. He wrote, “ This is not fucking good on any levels SMFH, this hurt my fucking heart watching it.” Cedric The Entertainer took to social media to show his disappointment. “Very disappointed by the state of our community! This video of Diddy assaulting Cassie is beyond disturbing, it’s deplorable and at moments downright diabolical!” Heexpressed. He claims that Diddy must take time to atone his and all souls he has
affected.
Erica Campbell took to Instagram to apologize to Cassie since she has to relive such a painful incident in her past. She wished her prayers,blessing and love. “Had a hard time watching the Cassie video, sadly she is not the only victim. Sistas, keep ya head up,” Judge Greg Mathis posted. Jamaican-American rapper Safaree Samuels also expressed his concern. “Damn l can’t unseen that video... Definitely brings back childhood memories.”
Sudanese American novelist Kola Boof has made some controversial remarks concerning the video. This is because she claims that what Cassie has gone through is nothing compared to what Kim Porter went through. She also stated that at one point Cassie laughed at Kim when Diddy degraded and abused her. “Will never forget the time he tried to make Kim Porter lick Cassie’s tampon. Always using Kim’s race as a out down,” She wrote on X. She also wrote that Diddy has a hand in Kim Porter’s death.
