Sean "Diddy" Combs has issued an apology for his behavior in a recently surfaced 2016 video, in which he attacked his ex-girlfriend Cassie. The video, recorded on March 5, 2016, appears to show Combs grabbing, shoving and kicking Cassie at the now-shuttered InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles.

Diddy posted a video on Instagram acknowledging his misconduct. He said, "It's so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you gotta do that. I was fucked up. I mean, I hit rock bottom. But I make no excuses. My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in this video. "

"They're disgusting. I was disgusted then when I did it, I'm disgusted now. I went and I sought professional help. I've been going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I'm so sorry, but I'm committed to being a better man each and every day. I'm not asking for forgiveness. I am truly sorry," he went on.

Cassie's attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, expressed that the "gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs," commending Cassie's bravery in coming forward. The video's release, captured in a hotel hallway, aligns with the details Cassie provided in her federal lawsuit against Combs, which accused him of raping and physically abusing her over the course of their relationship. Despite initially denying these allegations, Combs settled with Cassie the day after the lawsuit was filed, though he asserted the settlement was not an admission of wrongdoing.

Combs has faced additional legal troubles since Cassie's lawsuit. In November, Joi Dickerson-Neal filed a lawsuit under the New York Adult Survivors Act, alleging Combs "drugged, sexually assaulted and abused" her and subjected her to "revenge porn." In December, another lawsuit filed by a Jane Doe accused Combs and R&B singer Aaron Hall of raping her and her friends at Hall's apartment between 1990 and 1991.

The Los Angeles District Attorney's Office noted it could not charge anyone in connection to the 2016 incident stating "As of today, law enforcement has not presented a case related to the attack depicted in the video against Mr. Combs."
