Former NFL star Tom Brady, renowned for his illustrious career and numerous championships, recently shared his regret over how some jokes from the Netflix show "The Greatest Roast of All Time" impacted his children.

Hosted by comedian Kevin Hart and livestreamed on Netflix on May 5, the show featured Brady as the target of numerous roast-worthy topics, including his divorce from Brazilian supermodel Gisele Bündchen, his appearance, retirements, "Deflategate", and investments. While Brady enjoyed the jokes directed at himself, he expressed concern about how they affected his family.

In a candid conversation on "The Pivot Podcast"; with Fred Taylor, Ryan Clark, and Channing Crowder, released on Tuesday, Brady admitted, "I loved when the jokes were about me. I thought they were so fun. I didn’t like the way that it affected my kids".

The roast heavily leaned into Brady and Bündchen's divorce, which they announcedjointly in October 2022. Brady acknowledged feeling uncomfortable during these moments, particularly as the jokes unfolded, realizing their impact on his children.

Reflecting on the experience, Brady shared, "It was the bittersweet aspect of when you’re doing something you think is one way and then all of a sudden you realize I wouldn’t do that again because of the way it affected actually the people I care about the most in the world".

Brady, known for his resilience both on and off the field, saw a valuable lesson in the experience, noting, "It makes you in some ways a better parent going through it because sometimes you’re naïve. It’s a good lesson for me as a parent. I’m gonna be a
better parent as I go forward because of it".

Throughout his 23-year career as the NFL's leading quarterback, Brady amassed an impressive list of accolades, including seven Super Bowl rings, six with the New England Patriots and one with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Despite announcing his retirement in February 2022, Brady returned for one more season with the Bucs before officially retiring last year.

In his closing remarks at the roast, Brady humorously defended his decision to participate, stating, "It’s simple. I can take all the hits. I would have done this earlier, but I’ve been too busy winning championships".

Brady's reflections offer a glimpse into the complexities of navigating fame and public scrutiny, even for someone as accomplished as him. As he continues to prioritize his role as a father, Brady's honesty serves as a reminder of the importance of considering the impact of one's actions on loved ones, even in the face of humor and entertainment.
