Fans dug up old Metro Boomin tweets amidst rap beef with Toronto rapper, Drake. The two have been going back and forth on social media despite their prior work together. Metro was behind the production of Drake and Future’s joint 2015 album, “What a time to be alive.” Following the release of Future and Metro’s joint album, “ We don’t trust you,” Future and Kendrick Lamar had songs aimed at Drake.
Things started falling apart between Drake and Metro after the producer criticized the success of “Her loss”, Drake’s joint project with rapper 21 savage. He wrote on X: “ Yet her loss keeps winning rap album of the year over H& V (Heroes and Villains). Proof that award shows are just politics and not for me. Idc about awards honestly, the true award and reward is knowing that the music l spend so much time on bring joy to people’s everyday life.” After this tweet, Drake unfollowed Metro on Instagram.
Kendrick Lamar, Metro’s ally called Drake a paedophile in his latest diss song, “not like us” and “meet the Grahams.” Kendrick implied that Drake likes underage girls and urges his fans to hide their younger sisters from Drake.
Fans dug up Metro Boomin’s old tweets to prove that he is not one to go around calling Drake a paedophile yet he is in the same boat. On June 1, 2014, Metro tweeted, “She might be young, but she ready.” On September 22, 2012, he tweeted, “ Got your little sister on them mollies. She dun ran thru the whole squad.” He also tweeted that the thing he would do to RnB singer Ciara are probably illegal.
On October 27, 2011, he tweeted, “Walking through the grocery store with both hands in my khakis like a true paedophile tho.” Fans on X started calling him “Metro groomin” after he said, rule number 2: no means blow. He also tweeted, “She gon suck me whether she likes it or not. That’s what the Molly for.” These questionable tweets were at least ten years ago, but fans argue that he was old enough to know that he was wrong.
