Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, beloved for their roles as Jack and Rose in the iconic 1997 film Titanic, recently reunited for a special occasion in Los Angeles. On November 19, the duo attended the screening of Winslet's latest movie, Lee, at Harmony Gold theater.
The event was marked by heartfelt moments, including a warm embrace and a brief kiss shared onstage. DiCaprio introduced Winslet with glowing remarks, saying, “Kate, my dear friend, your work in this film has been nothing short of transformative. I continue to be awestruck. I continue to admire your strength, your integrity, your talent, and your passion for every single project you create.” He described her as "one of the great talents of my generation."
Lee, a biographical film directed by Ellen Kuras, sees Winslet portray Lee Miller, a fashion model who became a renowned World War II photojournalist. During a recent interview, Winslet shared an interesting connection between Lee and Titanic: one of the violinists recording the movie’s score turned out to be Jonathan Evans-Jones, who played the bandleader aboard the doomed ship in Titanic.
The pair’s connection dates back to their unforgettable collaboration in James Cameron’s Titanic, which won 11 Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and grossed over $2 billion worldwide. The movie remains a cultural phenomenon, often sparking debates such as the infamous “floating door” scene, which Winslet humorously addressed in an interview, stating, “It was a bannister.”
Beyond Titanic, DiCaprio and Winslet reunited onscreen in 2008’s Revolutionary Road. Their bond, however, extends far beyond their professional collaborations. Winslet once recalled their instant connection on the Titanic set, describing DiCaprio as a "magnetic" presence with "effervescent energy." In her words, “We clicked immediately, right away.”
