Sean "Diddy" Combs was seen enjoying Central Park just one day before his arrest on serious charges. The 54-year-old rapper was photographed playing hacky sack and frisbee with friends around 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15. According to his lawyer, Marc Agnifilo, Combs had moved to New York City two weeks earlier in preparation to surrender to the U.S. district attorneys.
A witness claimed Combs, casually dressed in a tank top and sunglasses, joked to his friends, “I wish I could throw a frisbee,” as reported by the New York Post. His relaxed demeanor came just before his arrest on sex trafficking, racketeering, and prostitution-related charges at the Park Hyatt in Manhattan on Monday, Sept. 16. He was taken into custody at 8:25 p.m.
The following day, the indictment against Combs was revealed, disclosing disturbing accusations, including claims that he forced victims into participating in "freak offs," described as elaborate sexual performances. The rapper allegedly used drugs like cocaine, ketamine, and oxycodone, as well as his power, to manipulate and intimidate women into joining these events. Some of these acts were reportedly recorded without the victims' consent.
When Combs' Los Angeles and Miami homes were raided in March, over 1,000 bottles of baby oil, allegedly used during these "freak offs," were found.
During his arraignment, his lawyer stated that Combs is receiving "treatment and therapy for issues that respectfully require it," but no further details were provided due to confidentiality. Combs pleaded not guilty, and his legal team proposed a $50 million bail package, which included a $50,000 bond. However, the court denied bail, and Combs remains in custody as he awaits trial. Prosecutors also claimed drugs were found in the hotel room at the time of his arrest.
After the ruling, Combs' family, present at the hearing, declined to comment and left the courthouse without addressing the media.
