Cardi B recently found herself in the spotlight for her quick return to the gym after giving birth to her third child. On September 7, Cardi B and her husband, Offset, welcomed their third child. Just days later, the rapper shared her postpartum workout routine on Instagram, which sparked a mix of reactions from her fans and followers.
One particular comment on X caught Cardi B’s attention. A fan wrote, “It’s barely been a week. Yoh, the pressure women in the industry are under? Insane.” This comment, which resonated with many, prompted Cardi B to respond directly. She explained that her current postpartum experience is different from her previous ones. “This is my third baby and postpartum is a little different from my first two…I’m not doing heavy lifting, no muscle straining, squatting none of that… just cardio,” she clarified.
Cardi B emphasized that her workouts were not about conforming to societal pressures but rather about maintaining her mental health. “Sometimes to avoid postpartum depression you gotta keep your mind busy and for me that’s work and staying active,” she stated.
The rapper also addressed the criticism she received during her pregnancy. “Y’all dragged me for gaining 15 pounds while five months pregnant,” she recalled. “But now yall fake concerned and wanna talk about pressure??? Y’all said I was pregnant to avoid working now that you see I’m still at it it’s something else??”
She shared that this postpartum period has given her a burst of energy and a desire to achieve her goals. “I just was never the type to care about snap back after birth. I don’t know what it is about this time around but I have this burst of energy where I want to do EVERYTHING… It’s like I want to complete all my goals in one day,” she concluded.
