Cardi B and Offset have welcomed their third child together, a baby girl, even as they navigate through ongoing divorce proceedings. The couple are already parents to daughter Kulture and son Wave.
Cardi B shared the news on her Instagram, posting a series of heartwarming photos from the hospital. In one of the photos, Cardi is seen cradling her newborn daughter, who is adorably dressed in a pink cap. The rapper captioned the post, “The prettiest lil thing 9/7/24
The birth of their third child comes just over a month after Cardi B filed for divorce from Offset. Despite their separation, Offset was present in the delivery room.
Cardi B announced her pregnancy in August, just hours after filing for divorce. In an Instagram post, she wrote, “With every ending comes a new beginning! I am so grateful to have shared this season with you, you have brought me more love, more life and most of all renewed my power!
Reminded me that I can have it all!” She continued, "You’ve reminded me that I never have to choose between life, love, and my passion! I love you so much and can not wait for you to witness what you helped me accomplish, what you pushed me to do.”
The couple’s relationship has been marked by several ups and downs since they began dating in 2017. They secretly tied the knot in September 2017, and Offset proposed publicly a month later. However, their relationship has been plagued by rumors of infidelity and multiple breakups. Cardi first announced their split in December 2018, but they reconciled shortly after. They separated again in 2020, with Cardi filing for divorce, only to dismiss the proceedings later that year.
In her recent divorce filing, Cardi B requested primary custody of their children and child support from Offset. The petition cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the breakdown of their marriage and stated that “there is no reasonable prospect of reconciliation.”
Despite the challenges in their relationship, Cardi B has often spoken about the deep bond she shares with Offset. In an interview with Rolling Stone in May 2024, she said, “We think it through, because we do love each other. It’s not even about love. We’re best friends. And it’s like, ‘OK. Well, there was a time that I didn’t have a best friend, or I didn’t have a support system.’ It’s not even about ‘How do you leave a partner?’ How do you stop talking to your best friend?”
The couple has not yet announced the name of their newborn daughter, but fans are eagerly awaiting more updates.
