At the 2024 MTV VMAs on September 11, Megan Thee Stallion channeled a classic pop moment from the 2000s, paying tribute to Britney Spears. The 29-year-old rapper, who hosted the event at New York's UBS Arena, brought out a memorable outfit that referenced Spears' iconic 2001 "I'm
a Slave 4 U" performance. During the show, Megan surprised the audience with one of her bold wardrobe changes.

After a commercial break, Megan appeared in a striking green bikini top paired with a teal skirt and metallic shorts. She completed the look with eye-catching gold boots, but the show-stopper was the real yellow python draped around her neck. The snake recalled Britney Spears' legendary VMAs performance with a similar outfit and python.

Unlike Britney's cool demeanor, Megan didn’t try to hide her discomfort with the snake. As she walked onto the stage, she looked visibly nervous and joked about her fear. "Okay, stop the music!" she said before calling for help, adding, “I don’t know this snake, this snake doesn’t know me!” She let out a scream as crew members rushed to take the reptile off her, visibly relieved once it was gone. "I tried to hold it down for Britney," she humorously told the crowd.

Before the event, Megan talked about her excitement with PEOPLE, sharing her plans to showcase multiple outfits throughout the night. She walked the red carpet in a stunning strapless black gown featuring a sheer skirt and pleats, setting the tone for her stylish transformations. "I'm
excited to change clothes 500 times, perform, and see all my fans, the Hotties," Megan said, eager to take on the hosting duties.

In addition to her fashion moments, she expressed her love for New York, saying, “I can’t wait to be there again, eat all the food, and show people what I bring as the host.” With her humor and fashion, Megan made sure to leave her mark on the 2024 VMAs, all while giving a playful nod to one of pop culture’s most iconic performances.
