Ciara feels deeply grateful for having her family join her on tour this summer. At the Baby2Baby Initiative to Combat Maternal Mortality event on Sept. 10, the singer opened up to PEOPLE about the special moments shared with her loved ones on the road.
The 38-year-old artist was part of the Out of This World — The Missy Elliott Experience Tour alongside Missy Elliott, Busta Rhymes, and Timbaland. Reflecting on the experience, Ciara described it as "the time of [her] life." She was thrilled to have her husband, Russell Wilson, briefly join the tour with their children despite his football commitments.
Ciara and Russell's kids, Sienna, 7, Win, 4, Amora, 9 months, and Future, 10 (whom Ciara shares with rapper Future), traveled with her during the tour. "I couldn’t have done it without them," she said, fondly recalling how the kids had a blast with "Auntie Missy and Uncle Busta."
Reflecting on her first summer as a mom of four, Ciara shared that it was a whirlwind but incredibly rewarding. After the tour ended, she quickly switched gears, focusing on school preparations for her kids, even enjoying a fun school shopping moment. "It was the most amazing
time with my babies," she added, emphasizing how these small moments remind her of the true joys of life.
Balancing the demanding schedule of touring with the responsibilities of motherhood, Ciara expressed her gratitude for the chance to experience both. "It’s chaotic, but I wouldn’t change a thing," she said. "First summer with four kids was wild, but we're managing just fine."
On Aug. 22, Ciara celebrated her time with her family by posting an Instagram carousel. The snapshots captured precious moments spent with her children in between performances, which she said "filled up [her] cup" during her busy summer travels.
