Nicholas Galitzine, the rising star known for his roles in ‘Red, White & Royal Blue’ and ‘The Idea of You’, has officially signed on to star in ‘100 Nights of Hero’, an adaptation of Isabel Greenberg’s graphic novel. This upcoming project, directed by Julia Jackman, is set to explore feminist themes and is inspired by the classic ‘One Thousand and One Nights’.
The story centers around two women, Cherry and Hero, who are in love. Cherry is married to a villainous man named Jerome, who makes a bet with his friend Manfred, played by Galitzine, that Manfred can seduce Cherry within 100 nights. If he succeeds, Jerome will give Cherry to him. However, Cherry and Hero devise a clever plan where Hero, a gifted storyteller, will tell Manfred captivating tales over 100 nights, distracting him from his lecherous goal.
Galitzine’s casting as the villain Manfred marks a shift from his previous roles in romantic comedies, showcasing his versatility as an actor. His recent successes in Amazon Prime rom-coms such as ‘Red, White & Royal Blue’, where he played Prince Henry, and ‘The Idea of You’, have solidified his status as a major star in the streaming world. Now, with ‘100 Nights of Hero’, he ventures into a darker role in this fantasy- driven narrative.
The film Is being produced by Helen Simmons and Stephanie Aspin’s Erebus Pictures, with production beginning later this month. This adaptation will bring Greenberg’s beautifully illustrated novel, which was first published in 2016, to life on the big screen, promising a unique blend of storytelling, magic, and feminist themes.
With the film slated to be one of Galitzine’s most anticipated projects, alongside his upcoming role as He-Man in ‘Masters of the Universe’, fans are eager to see him take on this new, complex character. Director Julia Jackman, known for her work on ‘Bonus Track’, is expected to deliver a visually stunning and narratively rich experience.
