Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj have been involved in a rap feud leading to several disstracks. Megan and Nicki once collaborated on the track “Hot Girl Summer”, making it a global hit song, however, their relationship went sour after sometime. “I still to this day don’t know what the problem is,” Megan revealed, going on to say she doesn’t “even know what could be reconciled because I, to this day, don’t know what the problem is.”
The tension between Houston rapper Megan Thee Stallion and Minaj intensified after the latter dropped “Big Foot” a diss track directly aimed at Megan. Nicki took shots at Megan's shooting incident with Canadian rapper Tory Lanez, her relationship with her ex-boyfriend Pardison, her failed relationship with her ex-best friend as well as Megan's deceased mother.
Megan also talks about her position in rap, claiming she must be a really good artist if some of her peers see dissing her worth it. “If people feel like I’m somebody to aim at, then I must be pretty high up if you’re reaching up at me,” she said. “I must be some kind of competition. That makes me feel good. That makes me feel like I could rap because if I wasn’t the shit, y’all wouldn’t be worried about me.”
The lines, “These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law / I don’t really know what the problem is, but I guarantee y’all don’t want me to start,” in Megan's single “Hiss” prompted Nicki to fiercely respond to her. Megan’s Law refers to the US federal law that enforces that information regarding registered sex offenders is available to the public. For some, this line is a veiled remark aimed at Kenneth Zoo Petty, Nicki Minaj's husband, who is a registered sex offender after pleading guilty to attempted rape by force or fear at age 16.
